Lions - Spring 2 Week 5

We went to Boydell's Farm! We milked a cow called Mootilder, fed goats, sheep, ponies and alpacas. We bottle fed a lamb and had our picture with one. We stroked Guinea pigs and little chicks. We saw donkeys, geese, a turkey, ducks, chickens, a cockerel and weaners (piglets who have weaned away from their mothers). What an amoozing day!

Lions - Spring 2 Week 4

In DT we designed and made our portable snacks! We grated carrots and chopped tomatoes. We evaluated them by thinking about what we liked and what we would change if we made them again.

Lions - Spring 2 Week 3

For World Book Day, the children had great fun dressing up as their favourite word or phrase. We enjoyed completing a range of Julia Donaldson themed activities, including making Play-Doh Gruffalos and creating a Snail and the Whale collage. We also made the most of the sunshine by reading outside with our Year 3 reading buddies, which was a lovely way to celebrate our love of books together.

Maths - we were looking at numbers 1-50 getting used to what order they go in playing snakes and ladders and becoming more familiar with where they appear in a number square playing bingo.

We used crayons, pens and pencils to explore creating spirals.

Lions RE Christingles

We created our own Christingles to represent the story of Christmas.

Week 6

Lions - English acting

We were acting different parts of the story in the book Giraffes Cant Dance.

Week 4

Science

We were sorting animals into their three groups; carnivores, herbivores and omnivores.

RE - Nativity with Sheena

This week, we had Sheena visit to discuss the nativity story. She used puppets to retell the story and encourage the children to think about a way they can use messages send messages to show love.

Week 3

Lions Art - Hand and Foot Printing

In table groups, we used either our hand or foot to print randomly across a large piece of paper using a different colour each. Next week we will be using them as our canvas for more Artwork!
