Lemurs Egyptian Day

What a brilliant day we had today. Lots of working the morning making items for the Queen and Pharaoh. We then worked on producing entertainment for everyone in the afternoon, we practiced music, dance and plays to entertain everyone, while the servants served us our snacks and wine.

Spring Week 5

We spent some time today using clay to create characters from the story Marcy and the riddle of the Sphinx by Joe Todd Stanton.

Spring 1 Week 4 Science and Shadows

We looked at different objects and classed them as transparent, translucent and opaque. We looked at how only opaque items created a shadow. As the sun was shining, we took our learning outside and created shadows on the playground using our bodies.

Spring 1 Week 3

Creating dance routines in PE, using movement of machines as our inspiration

Lemurs Working on our Egyptian Portraits

In Art on Friday we worked on our final Egyptian style portrait, adding head dresses, collars and jewellery to our side profile photo.

Following Instructions

We have started a new writing unit, we are learning how to write instructions. We have begun by reading and following instructions, including how to play the card game Pig.

 Spring Term Week 1

Well what a cold wet and snowy week that was! This week we have started lots of new learning for our new topic of Ancient Egypt.

We looked at Ancient Egyptian portraits and created our own plan for an Egyptian side profile portrait.

Here are a few of our designs. Next week we will be adding our designs to pictures of ourselves.

We have also started our new Class Novel called 'The Ancient Egypt Sleepover' by Stephen Davies. It is an adventure set in the British Museum.

Autumn 2 Week 7

Today, the children in Year 3 enjoyed sharing their stories with Year 2.

Autumn 2 Week 6

This week we have decorated our class tree with some baubles that we decorated ourselves. We are looking forward to bringing them home at the end of term.

Autumn 2 Week 5

Today we had a fantastic day making Vegetable Soup to our own recipe. We loved practising our skills to peel, chop and mix our own soups. They smelt and tasted so delicious even Mrs Burrell came to join us.

Autumn 2 Week 4

Today we welcomed our parents to join us for our parent event. We created a magnet game to show that magnetism is a non-contact force.

Autumn 2 Week 3

Today in science we investigate non-contact forces . We used a magnet to lift a paperclip which was attached to the table using cotton. We had to see if we could keep it in the air without touching the paperclip. We were amazed to see we could.

6-11-25

We had an amazing Stone Age Day today. We visited Kit and Twig in their Stone Age tent and were fascinated by all the things they told us. We were able to hold lots of amazing artefacts and look closely at them. We watched them light a fire using stones and natural materials. We learnt so many amazing things.
