Chimp Class Gallery
Week 5
In Week 5, Chimps designed and created candle holders out of clay. We manipulated the clay using a range of techniques and used a variety of tools to add texture and detail.
Week 4
During week 4, we held our parent event. The children performed '3 Note Jam' and 'We Will Rock You' on recorders. We also performed our group 'Stomp' dances and our class disco dancing. Finally, we tested our Anderson shelters to see if an egg would survive falling 'bombs'

Week 3
During week 3, ,the children built Anderson shelters in D.T. They had to think about the type of arch they wanted and internal moderations to make their structure stronger. The children also had to consider aesthetics and how to make their shelters realistic using a range of materials.
Week 2
The children took part in their WW2 Day as evacuees from the 1940s. They went to a school in the morning where they used real ink pens to write and went to a village in the afternoon to spend their rations and use old money. The children had a fully fun and immersive day.
Chimps WW2 Day
Week 1
During week 1, Chimp class walked to the memorial site on White Court estate as we have been learning about the American hospital that was situated here during WW2. We also stopped and thought about all the soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the war. This week, we also learned 'Flanders Field' by heart and wrote our own remembrance poems with similar themes.
